First digital Bishop election in Denmark

Assembly Voting has conducted the first digital bishop election in Denmark on behalf of the Danish Ministry for Ecclesiastical Affairs.

A dispensation from the Ministry provided the legal ground for gaining the first experiences of digital voting in a Danish bishop election. The experiences will be used to assess whether it is feasible to introduce digital voting in other elections within the community in Church of Denmark.

With a voting percentage of 90.2% in the first round of the bishop election, the voters seem to have welcomed digital voting in the democratic process.
